About the Full Stack Developer role
The Full Stack Developer is responsible for developing and maintaining responsive, accessible, and user-friendly web applications using modern frontend technologies. Working closely with designers, product owners, backend developers, and stakeholders, this role builds maintainable UI components, optimizes performance and Core Web Vitals, ensures compliance with Singapore Government Digital Service Standards and WCAG, and integrates relevant GovTech tools. The role also contributes to code reviews, troubleshooting, cross-browser compatibility, and continuous improvement while supporting modern WordPress and no-code/low-code platforms where required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain responsive, accessible, and user-friendly web applications using modern frontend technologies
- Build clean, reusable, and maintainable code using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and TypeScript
- Implement modern UI components and design systems using frameworks such as Tailwind CSS, shadcn/ui, Radix UI, or Material UI (MUI)
- Ensure applications comply with Singapore Government Digital Service Standards (DSS) and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
- Integrate and support GovTech web tools such as WOGAA, Oobee, and WebSG where applicable
- Optimize website performance, accessibility, SEO, and Core Web Vitals using tools such as Lighthouse, PageSpeed Insights, and Chrome DevTools
- Collaborate closely with designers, product owners, backend developers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality digital solutions
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve frontend issues while ensuring cross-browser compatibility and responsive behavior
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to frontend best practices, coding standards, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Stay updated on emerging frontend technologies, accessibility standards, and modern web development trends
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline
- Minimum 5+ years of frontend software development experience
- Experience delivering enterprise, government, or public-sector digital solutions is highly preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in an Agile environment
Technical Skills
- Strong experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and TypeScript
- Experience building responsive and accessible web applications
- Proficiency with modern CSS frameworks, particularly Tailwind CSS
- Experience using component libraries such as shadcn/ui, Radix UI, or Material UI (MUI)
- Strong understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility
- Experience optimizing web performance and Core Web Vitals
- Proficiency with Chrome DevTools, Lighthouse, and PageSpeed Insights
- Knowledge of version control systems such as Git
Accessibility & Government Standards
- Experience implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
- Familiarity with Singapore Government Digital Service Standards (DSS)
- Experience with GovTech web tools, including:
- WOGAA
- Oobee
- WebSG
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in one or more of the following is advantageous:
- Experience with modern WordPress development, including PHP 8+, Gutenberg Block Editor, Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), REST API and/or GraphQL integrations, and LocalWP development environments
- Experience with no-code/low-code platforms, including Webflow, Framer, Shopify (Liquid), and custom JavaScript integrations
