About the IT Network Project Manager role

The IT Network Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, implementation, and operational management of network infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. Working closely with technical teams, vendors, and stakeholders, this role oversees network projects, cloud infrastructure, procurement, security compliance, and service performance while ensuring solutions align with organisational standards, IM8 policies, IT-QMS requirements, and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management Network Infrastructure Design and Implementation

  • Project management of the implementations of network and infrastructure services and solutions
  • Develop network solutions, meet organizational objectives, and make use of technological trends
  • Identify user requirements and study the network infrastructure requirements
  • Design network solutions and integrate with existing networks, with respect to client’s network standards and policies
  • Track the latest developments in network technologies and explore / implement suitable ones for client

Operational Management of Network Infrastructure

  • Manage network infrastructure operations for both on-premises and public cloud environments
  • Lead the network operations team in promptly addressing critical problems and issues to prevent disruptions to IT services
  • Manage various maintenance contracts, telco circuits, and service providers
  • Review existing network systems to identify opportunities for enhancement and optimal performance

Operational Management of Cloud Infrastructure

  • Responsible in Cloud design, test and deployment to meet the needs of the organization
  • Responsible for the maintenance of cloud network services
  • Responsible in providing cloud infrastructure support and advice to project team, troubleshooting and resolving network connectivity, user access and component configuration problems

Procurement items related to IT Network for Library Infrastructure and contract renewals

  • Responsible in procuring the necessary item(s) in compliance with procurement policy and guidelines to meet the project requirement and meeting the project timeline

Compliance to IT-QMS

  • Maintain high service level of network operations by managing the vendors and other internal/external resources
  • Continuously monitor the performance of the Network Infrastructure and ensure that system improvements are successfully implemented to increase efficiency
  • Review monthly statistics on the incidents and service requests and recommend continuous improvements
  • Propose and implement enhancements in the operational processes to improve efficiency and to meet the ISO-9000 and IT-QMS requirements

Compliance to Security and standards

  • Implement IT security standards and processes in the Network infrastructure areas, based on the IT Security Policy and IM8 policies
  • Manage the network administrators to do periodic review of audit logs by the use of exception reports
  • Manage systems security installation, configuration, and reviews, and coordinating with IT teams on patch implementation, etc
  • Oversee and follow up on the IT-audits in the network infrastructure area
  • Manage security review on system access and administration patterns

Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience involving LAN/WAN, Wireless, Firewall, IPS, MPLS, IPv6, routing protocols, VPN and related network technologies
  • Experience in the planning and management of network cabling projects and installation of wireless Access Points
  • Should hold relevant industry certifications such as CCNP and PMP
  • Provide the number of Cloud network Infra projects handled
  • Desirable to have experience in Public Cloud platforms, especially AWS
  • Good knowledge of network products / solutions available in the industry, preferably with hands-on experience
  • Good command of English and communication skills (writing and speaking)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team-work qualities
  • 3 to 5 years of experience as Network Engineer / Specialist with experience in the implementation and administration of on-premises and cloud network infrastructure, wireless, firewall and network security systems
