About the Project Manager role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager with a strong background in Java application development and Business Analysis to lead the successful delivery of complex enterprise projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the entire project lifecycle, coordinating cross-functional teams, engaging stakeholders, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

This role requires a blend of project management expertise, technical understanding of Java-based applications, and hands-on business analysis capabilities to bridge business and technology teams effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Management

  • Lead and manage complex application development projects from initiation through delivery
  • Define project scope, objectives, timelines, deliverables, and success criteria
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations
  • Monitor project progress and proactively manage risks, issues, dependencies, and changes
  • Ensure adherence to project governance, quality standards, and change control processes
  • Manage project financials, including budget tracking, forecasting, and reporting
  • Provide regular status updates to management and key stakeholders

2. Stakeholder Management

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with business and technical stakeholders
  • Facilitate project meetings, steering committee reviews, and stakeholder workshops
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment on project objectives and priorities
  • Escalate critical issues and provide timely resolution recommendations

3. Team Leadership

  • Lead cross-functional project teams including developers, testers, business analysts, and vendors
  • Manage multiple workstreams and coordinate activities across teams
  • Mentor team members and promote collaboration to achieve project goals

4. Business Analysis

  • Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews and requirement workshops
  • Prepare Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Functional Specifications (FSD), user stories, and process flows
  • Perform gap analysis and recommend process improvements
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) planning, execution, and defect resolution

5. Technical Coordination

  • Work closely with development teams to ensure successful delivery of Java-based applications
  • Understand application architecture, integration requirements, and system dependencies
  • Collaborate with architects and technical leads on solution design and implementation planning
  • Ensure compliance with SDLC, Agile, and organizational development standards

Requirements:

Mandatory Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline
  • Minimum 7-10 years of IT Project Management experience
  • Proven experience managing enterprise application development projects
  • Strong understanding of Java application development environments and SDLC
  • Experience performing Business Analysis activities including requirements gathering and documentation
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience managing project budgets, resources, risks, and schedules
  • Experience leading cross-functional and geographically distributed teams
  • Ability to work onsite in Cyberjaya

Technical Skills

  • Java Application Development lifecycle knowledge
  • Agile/Scrum and Waterfall project delivery methodologies
  • SDLC management
  • Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or equivalent project management tools
  • Requirements management and documentation tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum Master, or Agile certification
  • Experience in enterprise systems integration projects
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and modern application architectures
