About the Senior Low-Code Engineer role

The Senior Low-Code Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex low-code solutions that support enterprise digital transformation initiatives. This role provides technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle, translating architectural designs into scalable, high-quality applications while mentoring engineers, optimizing system performance, and integrating legacy platforms. Working closely with solution architects and cross-functional teams, the Senior Low-Code Engineer ensures secure, reliable, and maintainable solutions that align with business objectives and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build, maintain and take technical ownership of complex or high risk platform functionality on OutSystems, including legacy system integration
  • Delivery features through the full sprint cycle
  • Diagnose and resolve platform limitation directly where possible; escalate to Solution Architect only were resolution requires an architecture level trade off
  • Review code and mentor Consultant level engineer, acting as the first quality gate before Solution Architect review
  • Manage deployment lifecycle and performance optimisation for higher complexity or legacy adjacent modules in a live product/system
  • Support Solution Architect in translating architecture blueprints into buildable technical tasks for the team

Requirements:

  • 7 + years OutSystems development experience
  • OutSystems certification (OutSystems Expert Developer or higher)
  • Demonstrated integrating legacy systems into a modern platform
  • Experience in agile-scrum methodology and end-to-end project lifecycle
  • Experience building government or public sector digital products

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in GovTech tech stack
  • Experience in OutSystems-based delivery
  • Experience in handling legacy tech systems
