About the IT Infrastructure Engineer (Digital Services) role
We are seeking for an IT Infrastructure Engineer to deliver enterprise-level end-user computing services across Public Service agencies. This role offers the opportunity to drive innovation in desktop technologies and cloud-based services, lead initiatives that standardise and modernise desktop services across agencies, collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions, and be part of a forward-thinking team that embraces agility, boldness, and collaboration.
The IT Infrastructure Engineer will influence how technology empowers public officers and enhances citizen services, while also being involved in training users, supporting tech bars, managing budgets, and presenting initiatives to senior management, making this a dynamic and visible role with real impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage enterprise-level ICT infrastructure for end-user computing.
- Lead desktop service projects that enhance service delivery and user satisfaction.
- Collaborate with outsourced service providers to maintain and improve desktop services.
- Execute initiatives that standardise desktop environments across agencies.
- Provide classroom-style training and tech bar support to end users.
- Prepare budgets, seek funding approvals, and manage project financials.
- Present project updates and initiatives to senior management.
- Track project progress, manage risks, and ensure timely delivery.
- Respond to service issues, change requests, and escalations effectively
Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electronics Engineering or Information Technology or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in designing, deploying and leading enterprise level ICT infrastructure for end point services
- Experience with Microsoft 365 services (identity, access, roles) and technical knowledge in the design and implementation of Microsoft 365 services including handling user identity, access and roles
- Familiarity with supporting infrastructure (networks, servers)
- Strong technical knowledge of end point technologies as primary practice area, with knowledge in supporting technologies such as network and servers (e.g., Windows OS, Apple iPad device management, AV equipment)
- Adept at using Project Management tools (MS Project, Jira, Asana)
- Budgeting, risk management, and quality assurance
