About the Application Support Engineer role
We are looking for a proactive and technically skilled Application Support Engineer to support and maintain APAC applications. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in incident and change management, hands-on Java and Jasper development, and basic knowledge of Microsoft Azure infrastructure. This role requires both local and remote customer support capabilities, along with experience in project environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide application support for APAC applications, ensuring high availability and performance
- Handle incident management and change requests in accordance with SLA requirements
- Provide local and remote customer support, troubleshooting and resolving application-related issues
- Perform Java and Jasper development, deployment, and maintenance tasks
- Participate in project implementation activities, including testing, deployment, and post-go-live support
- Identify and fix security vulnerabilities, and deploy patches as required
- Monitor server performance, system health, and capacity, ensuring optimal operation
- Support application deployment and infrastructure activities within Microsoft Azure (basic level)
- Document issues, resolutions, and technical procedures for knowledge sharing and compliance
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience handling incident and change requests
- Minimum 2 years of experience supporting customers (both local and remote)
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in Java and Jasper development and deployment
- Minimum 1 year of working experience in projects (implementation, upgrade, or enhancement)
- Primary skill area is Application Development in Java with advanced proficiency, and secondary skill area is Infrastructure in Microsoft Azure with basic proficiency.
Additional Skills:
- Experience in fixing security vulnerabilities and deploying patches
- Experience in monitoring server performance and capacity management
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Good communication skills and ability to work with regional (APAC) stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in production support environment
- Familiarity with ITIL processes
- Experience working in multi-country/regional support models
