About the Business Analyst role
The Business Analyst supports product development by translating business needs into clear requirements and helping drive the delivery of digital products that align with business goals. This role collaborates closely with product managers, designers, engineers, and stakeholders to analyse requirements, support backlog prioritisation, and contribute to product planning and testing activities. The Business Analyst also helps track product performance through data and user feedback, facilitates stakeholder discussions and workshops, and supports agile delivery processes to ensure solutions meet user needs and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Product Strategy & Vision
- Leads the creation of product vision, speed-to-market strategy, roadmap and impactful objectives that align with the overall business strategy
- Leads in the evaluation of new opportunities and put forth proposals for new capabilities
- Owns the product backlog and prioritization process based on business value and customer impact
- Define success metrics and constantly measure the impact of the product(s)
2. Stakeholder Management
- Communicate product roadmap and strategies on a regular basis to stakeholders and leadership, with the ability to influence decision making and
drive collaboration - Develop short term plans aligned with long term goals, working with multiple stakeholders and iteratively build product capabilities
- Convey complex ideas concisely and actively solicit and anticipate issues from stakeholders
- Keep user and product outcomes at the forefront while balancing stakeholder needs
3. Product & Team Leadership
- Lead and build high performing cross-functional team(s) that includes UX designers, software engineers, business analysts and/or delivery managers to deliver digital products that achieves business outcomes
- Work closely with UX designers to plan research objectives, organize activities such as product conceptualization workshops and Usability Tests
- Analyze requirements to drive the design or review of test cases, and business processes
- Collaborate with Quality Engineer and business users to plan and monitor User acceptance test and user performance test
- Continuously seeks ways to improve products in the most cost-effective approach
4. Data-Driven Decision Making
- Utilize data and analytics to inform product decisions, measure performance and identify opportunities for improvement
- Define and monitor key metrics and user feedback to achieve quarterly product goals
- Work effectively with cross-functional development teams and business stakeholders to deliver a fully functional product that achieves business outcomes
5. Innovation & Best Practices
- Identify and implement industry best practices and emerging technologies to improve product effectiveness and efficiency
- Foster a culture of speed, simplicity and agility, encouraging creative problem-solving within the team
Requirements:
- More than 3 years of product management experience, ideally in a start-up or similarly fast paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skill, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly to diverse audience
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving abilities
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing decisions and drive aligns across teams
- Proven track record of delivering an impactful product or feature
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams to translate requirements to technical implementation
- Demonstrate ability to achieve stretch goals independently in an innovative fast paced environment
- Strong desire and motivation to continuously learn new skills and technologies
- Experience in Agile methodology and UX development environment
- Knowledge of data analytics is a bonus
- Experience facilitating focus groups, workshops and sprint reviews
- Experience with agile tools like Figma, Miro and JIRA
- Certification as a Scrum Master or Product Owner is a bonus
