About the Enterprise application support role

The Enterprise Application Support Engineer is responsible for ensuring the stability, availability, and performance of enterprise applications and their supporting infrastructure. This role provides technical support across Linux/Unix environments, databases, and deployment platforms, proactively resolving incidents, automating operational processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain reliable, secure, and high-performing business systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux/Unix server environments
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize Shell Scripts to automate operational and administrative tasks
  • Write, optimize, and troubleshoot Oracle SQL and MySQL queries for application support and reporting
  • Monitor system performance, identify issues, and implement proactive solutions
  • Utilize monitoring tools such as Zabbix to ensure system availability and performance
  • Manage source code repositories and deployment processes using GitLab
  • Support artifact management and deployment through JFrog
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve production incidents within agreed SLAs
  • Work closely with application, database, and infrastructure teams to support system enhancements and deployments
  • Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and support guides
  • Participate in system upgrades, patching, and release activities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Linux/Unix system administration or application support
  • Strong hands-on experience with Linux/Unix commands and administration
  • Solid experience in Shell Scripting (Bash/Korn Shell or similar)
  • Strong proficiency in Oracle SQL and MySQL query language
  • Experience working with relational databases and SQL performance tuning
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • GitLab
    • JFrog
    • Zabbix Monitoring
  • Experience troubleshooting production environments and resolving technical incidents
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting enterprise or mission-critical applications
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Familiarity with database administration concepts is an advantage
  • Experience with application deployment and release management
  • ITIL knowledge or experience working in an IT Service Management (ITSM) environment is a plus
