About the Low-Code Engineer role
The Low-Code Engineer is responsible for designing, architecting, and delivering scalable Salesforce solutions that support complex business and digital transformation initiatives. This role provides technical leadership across the full solution lifecycle, translating business requirements into secure, maintainable, and high-performing applications while guiding development teams to successful delivery. Working closely with stakeholders, architects, and project teams, the Low-Code Engineer drives solution quality, system integration, governance, and continuous platform improvement to ensure enterprise-ready Salesforce implementations that align with business objectives and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Solutioning & Architecture
- Design end-to-end Salesforce solutions covering data model, security, automation, and integration architecture
- Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical designs aligned with Salesforce best practices and platform limits
- Own architectural decisions across Service Cloud, public sector solutions, and OmniStudio implementations, ensuring solutions are fit-for-purpose and future-proof
- Conduct technical design reviews, code reviews, and enforce governance and quality standards across the squad
- Identify technical risks early and define mitigation strategies before they impact delivery
Delivery & Squad Leadership
- Lead a squad of developers, QE, designers through the full delivery lifecycle — from solution design to deployment and hypercare
- Break down complex requirements into deliverable sprints/workstreams and manage delivery timelines
- Act as the primary technical escalation point for the squad, unblocking issues and making pragmatic trade-off decisions
- Coach and mentor junior/mid-level developers on Salesforce architecture principles and coding standards
- Collaborate with Project/Delivery Managers to ensure scope, timeline, and quality stay aligned
Service Cloud & Public Sector Solutions
- Architect and implement Service Cloud solutions including case management, omni-channel routing, knowledge management, and entitlements/SLAs
- Apply PSS-specific capabilities (e.g. Public Sector Case Management, Action Plan and etc) to government or regulated-industry use cases
- Ensure solutions meet compliance, security, and audit requirements typical of public sector or highly regulated environments
OmniStudio
- Design and build OmniStudio artifacts — OmniScripts, FlexCards, Integration Procedures, DataRaptors — for guided, low-code process automation
- Establish reusable OmniStudio patterns and governance standards for scalability across projects
- Make sound build decisions between OmniStudio, Flow, and Apex/LWC based on performance, maintainability, and complexity
System Integrations
- Design and oversee integrations between Salesforce and external systems (e.g. identity providers, middleware, legacy government systems)
- Apply appropriate integration patterns — REST APIs, MuleSoft, Platform Events, external services, SCIM?based provisioning based on volume, latency, and security needs
- Ensure integration solutions are secure, resilient, and support enterprise identity/governance requirements (e.g. External Client Apps, OAuth flows)
Large-Scale Delivery
- Bring a proven track record of successfully delivering large, complex Salesforce programs (multi-team, multi-phase, or multi-agency/multi-business-unit in scale)
- Manage technical debt and platform scalability proactively across long-running programs
- Contribute to CoE (Centre of Excellence) playbooks, architecture standards, and reusable delivery frameworks where applicable
Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years of hands-on Salesforce experience, with demonstrated experience in an Architect or Technical Lead capacity
- Strong expertise in Service Cloud (case management, omni-channel, knowledge, entitlements)
- Hands-on experience with Public Sector Solutions (PSS) or comparable regulated-industry Salesforce implementations
- Proven expertise in OmniStudio (OmniScripts, FlexCards, DataRaptors, Integration Procedures)
- Strong command of Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flow, and core platform architecture (security model, governor limits, sharing/visibility)
- Demonstrated experience designing and delivering system integrations (REST, middleware, identity/SSO provisioning)
- Track record of leading squads/teams to deliver projects on time and within scope
- Proven experience delivering large-scale, complex Salesforce programs
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills — able to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications:
- Salesforce certifications: Application Architect, System Architect highly regarded
- Experience with MuleSoft or other enterprise integration platforms
- Experience with Salesforce Shield (encryption, event monitoring)
- Experience contributing to or building a Salesforce Centre of Excellence (CoE), including governance playbooks and platform standards
- Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices for Salesforce (SFDX, sandbox strategy, release management
