About the Software Engineer role
The Software Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining C# .NET and WPF thick client applications, APIs, and Microsoft SQL Server database solutions for enterprise and mission-critical systems. The role involves designing and optimising databases, preparing and executing test plans, supporting SIT and OSAT activities, troubleshooting software and integration issues, and assisting with production deployments. The engineer will also configure testing and production workstations, develop VSS client functionalities such as Alarm Manager and Live View Preset Views, prepare technical documentation, and collaborate with project teams, stakeholders, and onsite personnel to ensure successful delivery. Experience with video streaming protocols, Milestone VMS, and video surveillance or command-and-control systems is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain thick client applications and APIs using C# and WPF
- Design, develop, and optimize database solutions using Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL)
- Prepare, execute, and review test plans, test cases, and test reports
- Support System Integration Testing (SIT), Operational Site Acceptance Testing (OSAT), and production deployment activities
- Configure and prepare project laptops and workstations for testing and production environments
- Troubleshoot software, database, and system integration issues
- Prepare technical documentation and authority sign-off documentation
- Develop and enhance VSS client functionalities, including:
- Customized Alarm Manager
- Authorization and management of Live View Preset Views
- Collaborate with project teams, stakeholders, and onsite personnel to ensure successful project delivery
Requirements:
Mandatory Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
- Relevant software development experience in enterprise or mission-critical systems
- Strong proficiency in C# .NET development
- Strong proficiency in Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) for thick client application development
- Experience in API development and integration
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL), including database design, query optimization, and troubleshooting
- Experience in software testing methodologies and test documentation
- Familiarity with system deployment, application configuration, and production support

- Ability to manage multiple project activities and deadlines
Preferred Skills:
- Understanding of video streaming protocols
