About the System Analyst role

As a System Analyst Consultant, you will be responsible for the maintenance, support, and continuous improvement of software systems, including troubleshooting and resolving system-related issues. You will be part of an Agile team responsible for products used by financial industry stakeholders and client officers to support financial supervision functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and direct the day-to-day operations of IT services
  • Manage outsourced vendors and in-housed contractors to meet the delivery and operation needs of IT services
  • Manage change request, service request and production support issues and ensure service levels are met
  • Review system designs and technical specifications to ensure all requirements are captured to meet system objectives
  • Review post production issues and identify root cause and work with vendors on preventive measures
  • Plan, execute and support system implementation, software/hardware upgrades and security patches
  • Manage the verification of software patches and upgrades for applications
  • Measure, monitor and continuously improve performances of IT services

Requirements:

  • Bachelor or higher degree in IT or equivalent
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in application production support on Java and .NET applications in both Unix and Windows operating environments
  • Experience in incident management, problem management, release management, root cause analysis and deployment
  • Understand SDLC and experience working with business users, various IT teams and vendors
  • Knowledge of web languages (e.g. HTML/CSS, JavaScript)
  • Familiarity with databases (e.g. Oracle, Microsoft SQL) and application servers (e.g. IIS, WebSphere Application Server)
  • Positive attitude and able to work under pressure
  • Excellent technical troubleshooting skills
  • Self-driven, creative and team-oriented person with good interpersonal skills
  • Sound understanding of the technical aspects of systems integration in an environment with diverse technology
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence to gain consensus from multiple stakeholders when required
  • Possess strong information acquisition, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good organization skills and able to work with minimal supervision in a rapidly changing environment
  • Certification or formal training in ITIL will be an added advantage
